MEET THE TEAM
Magauta holds an Honors Degree in Applied Linguistics and a Postgraduate Diploma in English Education from Wits University. She is an Accredited Court Annexed Mediator and a respected speaker and commentator on all issues related to credit, consumer protection and rental housing.
She started her career as a Junior Lecturer in the Department of Applied Linguistics at Wits University. Before joining the CGSO, Magauta was the CEO of Ithuseng Credit Solutions which is registered with the National Credit Regulator as an Alternative Dispute Resolution Agent responsible for resolving credit disputes through Mediation, Conciliation or Arbitration. She also managed various capacity building projects, monitored and evaluated the performance of eight regulatory institutions at the Department of Trade and Industry (The DTI). She was instrumental in driving the development and enactment of the National Credit Act and Consumer Protection Act.
Her passion is to ensure a healthy and fair credit and consumer protection market in South Africa through influencing policy and legislation, as well as empowering consumers with information about their rights, obligations and options when they are experiencing financial difficulties or feel that their rights have been transgressed.
Queen joined CGSO in November 2013 as a GM: Corporate Services after being with CGCSA where she worked as Internal Audit & Compliance Officer. Prior to joining CGCSA, Queen worked as a Business/ Financial Consultant both in Public and Private Sector in areas of Finance, Internal Audit and Compliance. Prior to this, she also worked at Standard Bank of South Africa for 10 years and Momentum for 2 years. She has more than 20 years working experience in a Financial and Auditing environment.
She holds a B Com (Financial Accounting) from the University of Pretoria, Programme in Forensic & Investigative Auditing and a Postgraduate Program in Advanced Taxation from Unisa She is a member of SAIPA (South African Institute of Professional Accountants) and IoD (Institute of Directors South Africa).
Bonita served as a complaints adjudicator at the Ombudsman for Banking Services for 3 and a half years. There, she was tasked with investigating complaints, drafting reports and recommendations of investigative findings.
She obtained her LLB degree from Unisa.
Call Centre Supervisor/ Media Liaison Officer
Ouma has a wealth of experience in client / customer care services, having spent 17 years at the EDCON call centre. Ouma started off as a call centre agent, progressed to be staff training facilitator and then became a credit team manager.
Lindiwe joined CGSO in September 2017 after being with the Advertising Standard Authority of South Africa for 10 years. Before joining CGSO, she worked as an Executive PA, Receptionist, Assistant Administrator, Assessor Administrator and Information Systems Coordinator.
Rhoda Maphosa established her working experience as an Accountant and Finance Manager in Retail and Public Relations sector, she has more than 10 years combined experience in the Finance and Operations environment.
She obtained Bachelor of Business Administration degree in International Finance and completed a Management Development programme with Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS)/ University of Pretoria.
Nicky was in practice specialising in civil and commercial litigation before she joined the CGSO. She obtained her B Com Law and LLB degrees from Wits.
Melanie has been in the legal field since 2011. She has completed her BCom Law and LLB degrees, and is currently completing her Masters degree. She has completed her articles and is expected to be admitted as an attorney of the High Court in 2016.
Having obtained her LLB degree at the University of the Witwatersrand, Zandile has been in the legal field since 2014. She has completed her articles of clerkship and is expected to be admitted as an attorney of the High Court in 2018.
Bongiwe has worked extensively with customers at different levels. She has more than 9 years of experience as an administrator, personal assistant and foreign exchange consultant at First National Bank. She has a National Diploma: Management Assistant.
Nadima was employed at the Ombudsman for Banking Services for 10 years as an Administrative Assistant. She assisted the Adjudicators and Complaints Assessors and vice versa.
Mpho brings with her experience in Financial Administration, Reception, Human Resource Administration and Call Centre Agency in various companies including Tracecom, COLLEGE SA, UCS Solutions.
I studied Business Retail Management at the University of Johannesburg . Worked at Pick n Pay as a checkout assistant while studying .
Was in an internship at the Consumer Goods Council of South Africa introduced by the Wholesale and Retail Seta and moved on to work for the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud Office .

Jeremy Samuels holds a Diploma in Information Technology in Software Development from the Independent Institute of Education. Before joining CGSO, he worked at First National Bank as a Call Centre Agent.

Mantombi has strong Customer care skills and has worked extensively with customers at different levels. She has more than 5years of customer care and admin skills.
She brings her hard working skills in Call Centre, admin and data capture from various companies that she worked for From Metropolitan Health Group, Thebe ya Bophelo, SWGC, family and medical centre to MTN .

Siyanda has worked for several companies including the Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) before joining the CGSO.

She obtained her National Diploma in Office Management & Technology from Technikon North West. Worked as administrator at Reri’s Insurance Brokers for 12 years. Joined CGSO in 2018.
Privilege is experienced and skilled in call center and customer services. She has worked in various companies including Math’s Tee and Metropolitan life. She holds a diploma in Beauty Therapy and currently studying towards a BCom Accounting degree.
Cleaner / Relief Switchboard Operator / Clerk
Gladys brings with her over 3 years of experience. She has worked at Xerox as an office assistant. Prior to that she worked at Colleen’s Coffee Shop.
