Consumers Warned Against A Phishing Scam

The Consumer Goods and Services Ombud Office (CGSO) would like to bring to your attention a phishing scam that has come through via our complaints call centre. A gentleman posing as Richard Myeni has been sending emails purporting to be from the CGSO with links that cannot be
opened or forwarded. Kindly note that Richard Myeni does not work for or have any affiliation with the CGSO. Our complaints reference numbers are system generated and can easily be linked to a supplier or consumer. The reference number quoted in the fraudulent emails are not generated from our system. Participants and consumers are kindly requested to be on high alert by not opening any emails that has a scam alert on them. If you receive any suspicious email from the CGSO, please call us and we will gladly verify if that email is coming from our office.
