Queen Munyai
Queen joined the Consumer Goods and Services Ombudsman in 2013 as GM: Corporate Services. In 2018, she was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the CGSO after acting in that position for a year. An accountant by profession, Queen’s interest in consumer affairs began when she took on the Internal Audit & Compliance Officer role for the Consumer Goods Council of South Africa. Before joining the CGCSA, Queen worked as a financial consultant to public and private sector clients specialising in finance, internal audit and compliance, having spent the previous 12 years in financial services, first with Standard Bank and later at Momentum.
Queen holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Wales and a B. Com (Financial Accounting) from the University of Pretoria, followed by a Forensic & Investigative Auditing programme and a postgraduate programme in Advanced Taxation from the University of South Africa (UNISA). She is a member of the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA) and the Institute of Directors South Africa (IoDSA).
